6th
CFC Conference in Trinidad
Jamaican XP
As a Jamaican, being
culture shocked in the Caribbean was hardly conceivable; however it
happened in Trinidad at the 6th Couples for Christ Caribbean Conference.
For three days of conference the atmosphere was electric as the Jean
Pierre Complex resonated with Caribbean style praise and worship as would
be anticipated when more than one Caribbean people meet in one place. It
was like a family re-union, a party, but party and praise in the name of
Jesus.
The potpourri of people
from Antigua, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, St. Lucia, Philippines,
Jamaica, St. Maarten, Dominica, USA and host Trinidad reminded me of our
own motto “Out of Many One People”, but this time in praise. It was
refreshing to be able to interact with our Caribbean neighbours whilst
sharing and praising with one accord. From our vantage point inside the
complex we soaked up the rhythms of praise and worship and the profound
messages embedded in the talks so humbly and convincingly delivered by the
inspired speakers. It was not hard to see from the outpouring of love that
the work of the CFC is truly alive and well and we certainly went home
with something to cherish and lots to think about and do.
It is easy to talk the
talk but the true glory is in walking the walk. We think that the 6th CFC
Caribbean Conference was beautifully hosted and exceptionally executed.
Trinidad must take full compliments as hosts and facilitators for a job
well done. The conference theme “GOD IS ENOUGH” was truly meaningful
and appropriate and our eyes were opened and our hearts were never
lacking. The many friends we met will be a part of us for a long time to
come. We look forward with much anticipation to the 7th conference to be
hosted by St. Maarten. May GOD continue to inspire and bless the work of
CFC and its various Ministries worldwide because “GOD IS ENOUGH”.
