CFC Handmaids of the Lord

The CFC Handmaids of the Lord (HOLD) is an integral part of the family ministry of Couples For Christ (CFC). CFC Handmaids of the Lord aims to provide a Christian support environment for women, specifically single parents, separated or divorced women, widows, unmarried mature singles, as well as married women whose husbands are working abroad, physically incapacitated or not at the moment interested in participating in the ministry.

Realizing the difficult life and role that these women play in family and society due to loneliness, rejection or fear, HOLD provides pastoral guidance and support to its members.

HOLD's formation program teaches that: Handmaids at a retreat

  1. The woman is a beautiful creation of God, chosen for greatness and designed for excellence;
  2. While loneliness, rejection and fear in their lives are real, they have God who loves them and cares for them through community;
  3.  To fully experience a life of joy and fulfillment, they need to heal, forgive, and decide to be happy and productive; and, by serving other women whose circumstances are similar to theirs, they thank God and gain empowerment.
